Wire stripping removes insulation from the end of a conductor so it can be terminated. Cable stripping removes the outer jacket of a cable, usually keeping the shield and inner insulation. A cable knife uses an adjustable hook blade to slit the jacket lengthwise—ideal for drum cable.
The three common failures: nicking the copper, crushing the conductor with too much grip force, and stripping too short for a reliable crimp. Automatic strippers control all three variables at once—self-adjusting grip, depth-limited blades and a repeatable strip length.
Choose the cable first, then the tool: diameter range, insulation (PVC / PUR / TPE / silicone), shielded or not, single-core or multicore. JOKARI product pages label compatibility in exactly this order.
